One Saturday night a couple of years ago, I and my wife sat by the TV watching the film August Rush from 2007. A little kid, a musical genius, was playing the song Moondance by Van Morrison. "Ah, right," I thought; "This is a great song." Went on the internet and found one arrangement of the song for guitar. Started to learn it but never finished.
A few days ago I found this arrangement again and decided it was time to finish learning it. I surfed the internet again found more arrangments. I made a new one by combining the one I had already started to learn and one other that I liked. The goal is to learn to play the arrangement well enough to publish it with this article. You can hear the arrangement in the video below.
The song Moondance by the Northern Irish musician Van Morrison was released in the year 1970 on his second solo album which has the same name as the song. The album is very good and was placed number 65 on Rolling Stone magazine´s list over 500 best albums of all time. The song itself was in 224 place over the best songs of all time. Morrison doesnt´ say much about his songs. He wants them to speak for themselves. About the song Moondance, he only said that it was written on a saxophone.
